Infrastructure construction projects in sectors such as water, power, roads, and networks have considerably improved as a result of the continued growth of the BRI. It can be said that the BRI is constructing a “rich belt” for the world and a “happy road” for the peoples of the world.

    Over the past eight years, the BRI has transitioned from idea to action, from vision to reality. It has constructed the largest international cooperation platform, providing oriental wisdom for the reform of the global governance system, and has became a vibrant practice for promoting the construction of a Community of Shared Future for Mankind, which is a significant milestone in the history of global development.

    As the once-in-a-century changes keep evolving, the COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread, geopolitical turbulence is unfolding, countries are facing an arduous and tortuous task of achieving economic recovery and sustainable development, the world has entered a period of turbulence and transformation. However, peace and development remain the dominant themes of our times and the popular aspirations of people of all lands. The BRI follows the principle of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, the philosophy of open, green and clean cooperation, devoting itself to high-standard and sustainable cooperation projects, and proposing the strategy of “opening up a new platform” to all countries in the world, rallying the strength of the international community to jointly and effectively face crises and challenges, thereby opening a road of opportunities for all.
