     Two thousand years ago, our ancestors crossed the deserts, broke through the storms, and gradually opened up the Silk Road both on land and sea. Since 2013, the Belt and Road Initiative has gradually changed from a vision to an action, profoundly promoting global cooperation and development; moreover, the Belt and Road Initiative has contributed an effective Chinese solution to promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

     The Belt and Road Initiative is an engine that increases the speed of economic development. Statistics show that both the trade value of goods and non-financial direct investment between China and countries along the BRI reached new highs this year. The Belt and Road Initiative promotes the completion of a large number of infrastructure cooperation projects, building a strong interconnection network and injecting impetus into world economic growth. According to estimates by the World Bank, if all transportation infrastructure projects under the Belt and Road framework are implemented, it is expected to generate 1.6 trillion dollars in global revenue every year by 2030, accounting for 1.3% of global GDP.

     The Belt and Road Initiative is a belt that combines China and other countries along it. China is not an isolated country. As the world’s second largest economy, China is willing to share development opportunities with other countries in the world and make progress together with them. The BRI is an open and inclusive cooperation initiative that focuses on connectivity between countries. In the past nine years, China and the countries along the BRI have worked together to greatly improve the infrastructure construction and trade levels of relevant countries, effectively promoting regional economic prosperity. Through the BRI, China and the countries along the Initiative are closely cooperating, and become a community with a shared future.

     The Belt and Road Initiative is a road that leads to a better and brighter future. The world is in an era of major development, transformation and adjustment, and is undergoing the greatest changes in a century. Against this background, it is timely to propose the BRI. On the one hand, BRI is non-exclusive and non-competitive, providing a great practical platform for global cooperation. On the other hand, the BRI pursues mutual benefit and win-win results, which provides basic guidelines for the development of global governance. Judging from actual situation, the outstanding achievements of the BRI have confirmed its correctness and brought new hope for solving global problems such as COVID-19 pandemic.

     The Belt and Road helps global economic develop, connects countries along it closely, and enables all countries to cooperate for win-win and achieve common development. It pursues development, advocates win-win, and conveys hope for future. What we have done, are doing, and will do is to promote high-quality BRI cooperation, which is not only meet our need of development, but also conforms to the historical trend of the world.
