     Economic globalization brings not only opportunities for development but also challenges. Since President Xi Jinping proposed the Belt and Road initiative, China has been working on cooperation with 149 countries and 32 international organizations.

     Under the BRI, China has enhanced ties with many countries. According to the General Administration of Customs, China's exports to ASEAN, its largest trading partner, surged 19 percent from a year ago to 2.05 trillion yuan during the first seven months of the year. The value of exports to economies participating in the Belt and Road Initiative also gained nearly 20 percent year-on-year, to hit 4.27 trillion yuan. On the other side, the Belt and Road Initiative has also help other developing countries to expand their world-wide trading horizon. The BRI projects have played a "monumental role" in infrastructure development and connectivity in Cambodia, said the country's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn.

     The BRI not only boost trade but also bridges diverse cultures. The young generations have raised much awareness of building a community with a shared future for mankind than before. Take Misbahul Ferdous as an example. He is using the Belt and Road Initiative as a platform, trying to make it possible for people in all developing countries to be able to enjoy good healthcare facilities, technologies and services. Ferdous is a Bangladeshi doctor who is working on building a resource-sharing platform for medical institutions in countries involved in the BRI. The platform aims to strengthen exchanges on diagnosis and treatment technologies, academic discussions and training for young doctors. Ferdous' proposal is one of more than 100 project proposals from global young people in the Wise-Demo Campaign 2022 of the Global Young Leaders Dialogue. The event was co-organized by the Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies and the Center for China and Globalization.

     Correctly guiding economic globalization and promoting the joint development of all countries are the basic prerequisites to win-win cooperation. The initiative was from China but it is now calling for joint steps toward recovery.
