北京将新建16座“再生水厂”

　　北京相关部门透露，北京今年将新建16座再生水厂，保证首都的“第二水源”供应，新再生水厂将采用高新技术来提高再生水的水质。

　　Beijing will begin construction on 16 new water reclamation plantsthis year to ease the thirsty capital with a stable "second water source," said water authorities on Saturday.

　　据北京水利部周六透露，北京今年将新建16座再生水厂，来缓解首都的“水荒”，保证稳定的“第二水源”供应。

　　“再生水厂”的英文表达就是water reclamation plant，和sewage treatment plant(污水处理厂)不同，污水处理厂只是要求达到排放标准，再生水厂要达到使用标准。

　　据水利部门官员称，北京将采用low-noise and non-polluting processing technologies(低噪音、无污染的处理技术)来提高reclaimed water(再生水)的水质。再生水的利用有效减少了fresh water consumption(饮用水消耗量)，有利于首都水资源的可持续利用。
