     At present, the world is suffering from the impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, and there is an urgent need for countries around the world, especially developing countries, to accelerate post-epidemic economic recovery. In this context, the introduction of the Global Development Initiative comes at the right time. International civil society is an important force in building a global partnership for development. Its purpose is to promote people-centered development by leveraging the power of international civil society, lead development with pioneering and innovation, and promote global development towards balance, coordination and inclusiveness.      An example from China can illustrate the role of international civil society forces. In June of this year, a powerful earthquake struck eastern Afghanistan, causing nearly 4,000 casualties in the hard-hit provinces of Paktika and Khost. After the disaster, the working group of China Beijing Pinglan Public Welfare Foundation in Afghanistan came to the Bemar area of ？？Afghanistan for the first time, and sent flour, cooking oil, rice and other disaster relief materials to 125 families in the five affected villages. The company sent milk powder, clothing, etc. to the affected people.      International civil society forces are an important force in promoting social progress.
