On July 4th, the news that China’s space station astronaut left the cabin for the first time drew tremendous attention from both Chinese and international media who has deemed it as a great pride for China. Just as what astronaut Liu Boming said “It’s so beautiful here.”, there is indeed beauty not only outside, the breath-taking scenery, but also inside.

The moving spirit behind the fair scenes is the true inner beauty. Firstly, it’s the selfless dedication that makes the space trip possible. Actually, Chinese has dreamed about flying for thousands of years, with Flying Apsaras in Dunhuang Murals as one of the famous evidence. Throughout the history, Wanhu is perhaps the first person to take real actions to go into the air-he sat on the chair with 47 self-made fire arrows behind, holding a big kite in his hand. Unfortunately, the arrows broke up and he passed away. However, his spirit of selfless sacrifice has inspired and influenced a lot of people for hundreds of years. Only due to these heroes like Wanhu, Nie Rongzhen, Sun Jixian and Su Zaishan who devoted themselves to the aerospace industry, can Chinese nowadays enjoy the beautiful space scenes. Secondly, strong perseverance is also indispensable along the space journey. Failure is unavoidable on the way to success. The last 1990s has witnessed the ups and downs of Chinese aerospace program. From 1994 to 1996, China’s fame on aerospace project faltered largely due to several successive failure, among which the most shocking one is the failing launch of LM-3B in 1996, taking the lives of some industrial engineers. But it didn’t beat the persistent Chinese. Instead, they dug deep into the reasons and kept perfecting techniques by practicing over and over again with a very down-to-earth attitude. As a result, China Aerospace Corporation built up its reputation quickly again within 8 years by ten continuous successful launch. What’ s more, now China, as one of the leading countries in the world, is equipped with advanced aerospace technology. Last but not least, the triumph of China’s aerospace property can’t do without the traditional spirit of self-dependence. At the very beginning, China was strongly starved of aerospace expertise and technology. When China and the Soviet Union broke up, the Soviet Union recalled all of their expertise in China who claimed that China’s domestic fuel would end in explosion. However, the crisis instead pushed China into a more independent level and motivated Chinese to fight against the difficulties. Independence was cultivated and finally 17 days later, a Soviet P-2 missile was successfully launched in China through the efforts of a many Chinese workers. Since then, China has got on the way to develop aerospace industry with their own hands.

In short, throughout the way to space, Chinese have once struggled, striven and fought for progress and development in aerospace industry. During the process, innumerable heroes have sprung up and their spirit of selfless contribution, independence and tenacity is concluded as the spirit of human spaceflight, continuously encouraging Chinese in every aspect to work hard for their rosy future. That’s how the beauty in people’s heart shapes the pulchritude outside.
